The challenge of providing real-time messages to motorists well in advance of the work zone has now been addressed with the new IntelliZone™ system. By providing real-time information to motorists, the system can help divert traffic, reduced sudden braking and motivate motorists to slow down when approaching the work zone.

IntelliZone is NTCIP (National Transportation Communications for ITS Protocol) compliant, simplifying the integration of other manufacturer's field devices. The modular, scalable, flexible system architecture enables our basic configuration to easily be modified to meet project-unique requirements for your work zone. After initial setup, the roadside mobile control unit collects traffic data and automatically updates variable message signs upstream with messages that reflect traffic conditions in the work zone.

The IntelliZone software runs on a laptop and is used to configure the system, set thresholds, monitor system status and retrieve data logs for analysis and archiving. The intuitive graphical user interface includes a monitoring screen with georgraphic map and icons for each device.
